Kool-Aid for Kids
Although the rain threatened, the rain never came
to Elmhurst. Perhaps Jack Lupo would not allow the rain to fall upon his family
and friends. Neuroblastoma claimed the young life of Jack Lupo in December,
2003.
Inspired by "Alex's Lemonade Stand
Alex's
Lemonade Stand Fund at The Philadelphia Foundation," Chris Lupo, Jack's
father, approached the Friends For Steven Pediatric Cancer Foundation about
having a booth at Elmfest. The timing was right, as FFS was again planning its
annual "Kool-Aid for Kids."
In just one week, Chris put together an army of
volunteers to staff the FFS booth over the three-day event. The Lupo family was
able to raise over $2000 for Neuroblastoma research! Well done, Chris!
There are community festivals throughout the
summer months. You, too, can do a Kool-Aid for Kids booth. We have now raise
over $1 million for neuroblastoma research. Help us on our second million.
