Joy of the Game Baseball & Softball Academy’s 1st Anniversary Celebration! May 13th – May 19th FREE Daily Door Prizes & Charity Raffle Hi Everyone:
Of all of the emails I have sent out this past 11½ months, none makes us prouder than this one announcing our weeklong 1st Anniversary Celebration, which will be held May 13th –May 19th.
This event could not have happened without the support you have given Craig and me since we opened the doors May 19th of last year. We have worked very hard to provide you with the best in facilities, training and customer service to earn your respect and loyalty. I hope that you see the results of those efforts every time you come in. Of course, we have learned a lot along the way, so we expect our second season to be even better, with new and innovative programs and training tools.
Now, back to the details - The event is co-sponsored by the Schaumburg Flyers, Dallas Bat Company, Rosen Motors, Brown, Braun and Associates, American Needle, American Express Financial Advisors of Highland Park, Diamond Baseball, Bergie’s Sports Card Dugout, Joy of the Game Basketball, Team Sport Pro and Celebration Catering. Each night there will be free door prizes and refreshments. Also planned are free baseball and softball clinics featuring Joy of the Game professional staff instructors. One such clinic features Coach Bert Robins, a Florida Marlins scout, who will be discussing what a professional scout looks for in a high school ballplayer. A question & answer session will immediately follow. Other clinics for all age groups will be announced soon on our website and in a follow-up email.
The highlight of the First Anniversary Celebration will be a special raffle in which 100% of the proceeds will benefit the Friends for Steven Pediatric Cancer Foundation, which was started in Buffalo Grove and is affiliated with Children’s Memorial Hospital. Craig and I plan to make this an annual event. This year, prizes include 2 pairs of Cubs Box Seats, White Sox Box Seats, Autographed Memorabilia, Joy of the Game Pro Shop Gift Certificates and the winner’s choice of a complete run of Cubs or White Sox Cooperstown Collection baseball caps. The drawing will take place at 3:00 on Saturday, May 19th to cap off our big week. We hope that you will help us in supporting this outstanding and worthy charity, which has touched the local community, one of our members as well as a close personal friend of my family’s. Tickets are $10.00 each or 6 for $50.00. A ticket is included below in this email. If you would like to participate in the raffle, you can print it out and mail it to us with a check made out to Friends for Steven. You can also purchase tickets at Joy of the Game. All paid tickets will be stamped with a special logo to mark as paid before being placed in the raffle drawing box.
